Actuaries are so busy
with IFRS17 that they tend to forget about IFRS9, its twin sister on the asset
side. They should have a good understanding of both Standards as in the end, it
is their interaction, not IFRS17 solo, that matters. That is why we organise a
short presentation on IFRS9 for the Polish Actuarial Association. We start with
a high-level overview of IFRS9 and then zoom in on the quantitative aspects of
IFRS9, that are quite interesting for actuaries:

they relate to IFRS17,

impairments – how they can be calculated using a blend of Life and Non-Life
actuarial techniques,
